I am a multidisciplinary artist currently living in Fair Oaks, CA with my husband and son. I am an enrolled member of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, currently working with sculpture, printmaking and photography.
My creations consist of incorporating a fusion between my Washoe and European heritage with an eclectic mix of pop culture, surrealism, and avant garde elements utilizing trade items such as textiles and fibers with embellishments of seed beads, shells, or other items from nature. I am inspired by my childhood experiences as a latchkey kid in the late 80s into the early 90s with minimal supervision and my views on complicated relationships with family, racial and cultural identity, blood quantum restrictions, and the Government. My process involves the creations of art by means of mixing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary textiles and fibers.
